This scholarship is established to honor and remember Jennifer DuPras, a former member and past President of L'Alliance Française de Fresno. Jennifer, an educator and life-long learner herself, loved to travel. Her desire to experience and embrace French culture was only deepened by her visits to France. Therefore, L'Alliance Française de Fresno has established this $1000 scholarship to be given to a like-minded traveler from the greater Fresno area.
Applicants must be participating in a recognized travel program associated with a culturally educational purpose. For example (but not necessarily limited to) participation in a cultural exchange program through a city, school or work-abroad program. The intention is not to fund a vacation, but to support and cultivate a bridge of appreciation and understanding between our two great countries and peoples. Applicants are not required to be members of L'Alliance Française de Fresno, but a strong interest (evident in their application) in French and Francophone culture.
Recipients of the award will be selected by a committee composed of L'Alliance Française de Fresno Directors. The determination will be made based on criteria determined by the committee. L'Alliance Française de Fresno does not and shall not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status when awarding this scholarship.
